Riyadh, March 18, 2025: Shebara, the first owned and operated resort by Red Sea Global (RSG), has been selected as one the World’s Greatest Places of 2025 by TIME Magazine. The listing highlights the resort as a one-of-a-kind destination offering the perfect blend of luxury, sustainability, and captivating natural beauty.

Situated on a prime location along the Saudi Arabian Red Sea coastline, Shebara’s 73 overwater and beachfront villas gleam like a string of pearls atop the turquoise waters of the Red Sea. The resort also embodies authentic Saudi hospitality through bespoke experiences for visitors, reflecting the values of warmth and hospitality for which the Kingdom is renowned.

TIME Magazine hailed the resort’s innovative design, stating: "Amid a flurry of high-profile openings in Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Red Sea development, homegrown Saudi project Shebara Resort stands out with its futuristic design."

The resort’s architecture harmonizes with the surrounding natural environment. The villas, made from stainless steel, fade into the horizon as the surface refracts the light, creating a mesmerizing scene. Home to its own solar farm and an array of integrated utilities, the resort represents everything that RSG stands for as a responsible developer.

Located 25 kilometres from the mainland, Shebara can be reached by a 30 to 40-minute boat ride or a 30-minute seaplane flight from Red Sea International Airport (RSI). This relative isolation offers a serene and secluded environment ideal for those seeking an extraordinary escape into nature and wellness.

The Red Sea welcomed its first guests in 2023, with five of its hotels now open. RSI has been receiving a regular schedule of domestic flights since September 2023 and international flights began in April 2024, with a twice-weekly route between The Red Sea and Dubai International. RSI is situated within three hours' flying time of 250 million people and eight hours' flying time for 85% of the world’s population.

Upon full completion in 2030, the destination will comprise 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland sites. The destination will also include luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment, F&B, and leisure facilities.
