Our Initiatives

OSHA Training

Red Sea Global launched the “OSHA Training” Initiative to train 60 local community members on Health and Safety measures (OSHA) giving them skills to help them enter the job market. The trainees go through 25 training hours each across five days. Successful trainees receive a certification of completion accredited from Saudi Arabia's Technical and Vocational Training Corporation.

Nursery Training program

Red Sea Global launched “Nursery Training Jobs” to upskill 60 farmers from the local community, creating new employment opportunities. The scheme utilizes their existing knowledge in farming while introducing new techniques and equipping them with the skills needed to work in the Landscape Nursery

Marine Operation Jobs

Red Sea Global launched the “Marine Operation Jobs” program to train and hire 40 maritime technicians from the local community including boat captains, assistant boat captains, logistics coordinators, and assistant logistics coordinators.

Amerah Souq

Red Sea Global launched its socioeconomic empowerment initiative “Amerah Souq” in November 2022 with the aim of providing local individuals and SMEs with opportunities to promote their services and products such as agricultural produce, culinary products, and handicrafts.

Farmer’s Cooperative

Red Sea Global launched a “Farmers Cooperative” in November 2022 to help the local farmers (which number around 2,000 farms) benefit from our projects as well as provide a sustainable food supply for them.

English for Tourism

Red Sea Global launched “English for Tourism”, an online six-month general English program, to equip 600 young locals with the language skills needed to work in the tourism industry. This includes the potential to become tour guides for visitors to The Red Sea and Amaala.

Tent of Tales

Red Sea Global launched “Tent of Tales” to preserve and document the local intangible cultural heritage. A series of 10 community seminars host local experts and storytellers to share their knowledge with more than 800 guests from the local community. The sessions focus on multiple themes including traditional craftsmanship like textile, ship making and net making, in addition to traditional music and dances.

Culinary Art

Red Sea Global launched a “Culinary Art” initiative, which involved visiting towns and villages around The Red Sea & Amaala to explore and document the culinary culture and offerings of the local area.

Sustainable Art

Red Sea Global launched a “Sustainable Art” initiative during Environment Week to encourage beach clean-up activities and to inspire artistic pursuits. An Alwajh volunteering group participated with members from different age groups including kids, young people and senior volunteers. Following the clean-up, art murals using plastic waste were created by local artist Thanwa Alqarawi. The initiative raises awareness among the local community about the harmful impact of plastic on marine and coastal ecosystems.

Safety Culture Awareness

Red Sea Global launched its “Safety Culture Awareness” initiatives to extend general safety knowledge to 850 technical college students, online and in-person. The scheme introduces the students to fundamental concepts in safety which will enable them to use their learned skills daily.

Planet

The environment is our most precious asset. We must endeavor to not only protect it, but where possible actively enhance it.
A key aspiration for both The Red Sea and Amaala is achieving a 30 percent net conservation benefit by 2040 through the protection and enhancement of key habitats crucial to biodiversity. We regularly conduct environmental surveys of wildlife ecosystems to track impacts and improvements, to optimize our approach and ensure we reach our regenerative goals. We are not just setting ambitious targets, but actively measuring our progress against them.
We are inspired by the power of technological innovation to drive sustainable development at a never-before-seen scale. We are not afraid to draw on experimental and new solutions to solve the complex challenges we face.
The Red Sea and Amaala will be run with 100 percent renewable energy 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, all of which will be generated by solar power and underpinned by the largest battery storage facility in the world to guarantee supply at night-time.

Governance

None of our goals would be achievable without putting responsible governance at the heart of everything we do.
Our world-class governance framework is the glue that holds our ambitions together, combining rigor and transparency to ensure our people and partners can have complete confidence in our work.
Red Sea Global takes a comprehensive approach to setting new standards in good governance, compliance, and risk management. We have embedded a holistic approach to structural governance into the business at every level, from construction through to hospitality operations.
Our aspiration to raise standards of accountability far and wide was the driver behind our Internal Control Toolkit, a guide to best practice in governance for other organizations in Saudi Arabia.
All responsible development starts from within. We are proud of what our commitments to good governance have achieved for us to date, and confident in their ability to set new global standards in the future.
