This year, International Youth Day highlights the crucial role of technology in driving sustainability. As we celebrate this important milestone, I am thrilled to share my professional journey and how digital skills have been pivotal in fostering more sustainable ways of working.

I graduated with honors in marketing from King Saud University and gained valuable experience at MISK and the Ministry of Sport. I was then drawn to the Elite Graduate Program at Red Sea Global (RSG) due to its alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and its commitment to sustainability and regenerative tourism.

During the program, I developed digital skills that have significantly shaped my career. I learned to collect data and draw meaningful insights using various tools, which greatly improved my decision-making process. I became adept at tracking, measuring, and optimizing digital marketing campaigns to drive reach and engagement across our audiences.

Project management also became a key strength, enabling me to coordinate diverse digital initiatives and manage timelines effectively. I refined my social media marketing skills, too, creating and executing strategies to engage and grow our online following.

These skills have been vital in promoting sustainable practices through our marketing efforts. Effective project management brings our sustainability initiatives to life, while social media marketing helps us to raise awareness of our sustainability journey and capture a wider audience.

One of the most rewarding projects I managed is the Go Green, Go Red Sea digital media competition. This initiative aimed to promote sustainability and responsible development through engaging digital content. The success of this project highlighted the power of digital skills in driving positive change and inspiring others to adopt sustainable practices.

Working at RSG aligns seamlessly with my career goals. RSG aims to diversify Saudi Arabia's economy by attracting tourists worldwide and setting benchmarks for nature conservation. It also aims to create 120,000 new jobs, directly and indirectly, across both The Red Sea and AMAALA destinations.

In the last seven years, the company has launched several programs geared towards upskilling and training young Saudis, including the Vocational Training Program, the Red Sea Scholarship in partnership with the University of Prince Mugrin, the Hospitality Security Program, Red Sea Hospitality Pioneers, and, of course, the Elite Graduate Program. These programs showcase RSG’s commitment to youth development and empowerment.

Looking ahead, I aspire to continue driving sustainable initiatives and digital innovation within the tourism sector. My goal is to develop strategies that further reduce environmental impact and promote responsible tourism on a larger scale.

Young people in Saudi Arabia play a crucial role in driving sustainable development. We bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a strong commitment to sustainability. By leveraging digital skills, young professionals can lead the way in creating a more sustainable future that benefits both people and the planet.

To other young Saudis looking to develop their digital skills and pursue a career in sustainability, I advise you to seize every opportunity to learn and grow. Engage in programs like the Elite Graduate Program at RSG. Stay passionate about sustainability and always look for ways to contribute to your community and the broader Saudi Vision 2030 goals.

My journey reflects the broader vision of RSG and the wider Kingdom, highlighting how young Saudis are shaping a sustainable and prosperous future. As we celebrate International Youth Day, let’s be inspired by the dedication and collective efforts of young professionals leading the way in sustainable development.
